How to Dress Just Like a "White Lotus" Character

How to Dress Just Like a "White Lotus" Character

n The White Lotus, everything comes up to the surface eventually (be it secrets or dead bodies). Even if they’re not using their words, these characters can’t hide their feelings for long. Take that moment from season three, where a fellow hotel resident comes up to Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey) and recalls a trip they took together years ago. When asked if she remembers their time spent together, Victoria smiles and says nothing. It’s a cringey silent treatment, but she certainly gets her point across.

Half of the time, the HBO drama is defined by its visual cues. And there’s perhaps no greater piece to the puzzle than the show’s costumes, which not only underline the upstairs-downstairs framework, but which also act as markers for the feelings lingering deep within these characters. If creator Mike White and costume designer Alex Bovaird want us to learn anything, it’s that a fabulous article of clothing can be worth a thousand words.

With spring right around the corner, it’s almost time for us to have our own tropical vacations. But while we hopefully won’t be having the same experience as these guests, that doesn’t mean we can’t borrow a few ideas from their wardrobe. After all, these people may be messy, but damn do they look good.
